The Cambridge Diet
A low calorie diet that was first developed in 1970
by Dr. Alan Howard of Cambridge University. Later this diet was commercialized
and launched as a product of Cambridge Company. The product consists of a scientifically
prepared powder which when mixed with water provides all the necessary carbohydrates,
proteins, fats, fibers and essential nutrients required by the body.
The "Cambridge Diet" involves four stages in its program.
· Preparation phase: Gradual decrease in food intake
· Weight loss: Total dependence on company's pre-packaged meals
· Stabilization phase: Cambridge meal plus some selected foods
· Weight maintenance: Continue with the newly attained healthy eating
habits
