Detox Diet
The two week "Detox Diet" program is basically a cleansing process
that has been specially designed to remove accumulated toxic substances (detoxification)
from the body. This diet may be recommended as part of a treatment to prevent
certain health problems including weight gain, fatigue, headaches, arthritis,
colds, anxiety, heart-diseases etc.
The diet plan involves meals that are mainly based on fruits and vegetables
plus a lot of water. Foods to be avoided or severely restricted include all
dairy products, meat, processed foods, wheat, caffeine, sugar etc. This diet
plan may cause certain nutrient deficiencies in the body and hence cannot be
sustained for too long.
