Dr. Hay Diet
A diet plan that was introduced by an American physician by the name of Dr. William
Hay (1866-1940), According to him accumulation of acid in the body is the root
cause for most of the health problems.
Dr. Hay recommended that all foods should be taken in their natural form. He
classified foods into three main categories:
Concentrated proteins (acid foods)
Concentrated carbohydrates (acid foods)
Fruits and vegetables (alkaline foods)
His basic theory was that foods belonging to the three categories should not
be mixed and consumed separately as they need different conditions for digestion.
