Hunza Diet
Based on the dietary habits of people living in the Hunza valley in the Himalayas.
The Hunzas are known for their longevity and disease free lifestyle and health
problems like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, kidney and gallbladder stones,
asthma, high blood pressure etc. are non-existent for them.
The Hunza people consume total organic foods as no pesticides or artificial
fertilizers are used in their gardens or fields. Their traditional diet consists
of unprocessed foods such as unrefined carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, whole
grains, nuts, seeds and minimal animal products. In recent times "Hunza
Diet Bread" called "Chappatis" (in the local dialect) has become
quite popular amongst dieters as an appetite inhibitor.
