Montignac Diet
The brain child of a renowned dietary expert by the name of Michel Montignac.
After years of research and experimenting Michel thought out this successful
diet plan which is based on the glycemic index of foods. According to his theory
the best way to lose weight is to base your diet on foods that have a low rating
on the glycemic index.
The diet program consists of two phases, 1) weight loss and 2) weight maintenance.
The first phase is comparatively more difficult to follow and involves severe
restrictions on sugar and all refined products. The emphasis is on consumption
of a high fibre diet consisting of raw fruits, most vegetables and whole grains
while avoiding corn, white rice, potatoes, carrots etc. The second phase is
not so strict and is about maintaining your reduced weight. Some banned foods
can be reintroduced but only in restricted amounts.
