According to the "natural foods diet", consumption of natural foods is the key to a healthy living and is also the best way to lose weight. It is claimed that a diet consisting of artificial, unnatural or processed ingredients may lead to health problems like obesity, diabetes, cancer, heart diseases etc.

The diet plan stresses on the need to consume foods in their natural state like fresh fruits and juices, fresh vegetables, whole grains, brown rice, dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds, fish, unrefined oils, etc. All refined, processed and artificial foods like refined flour, refined sugar, artificial colors and flavors, preservatives etc. are considered harmful and need to be avoided.
