Okinawa Diet
Okinawa is a small Japanese island where the local people are known for their
good health and longevity. The Okinawa diet plan arises from the research done
on the eating habits of these people and has been introduced in the Western
countries through a series of books authored by Dr. Bradley Willcox and his
brother D. Craig Willcox.
The Okinawans eat several small meals in a day and get plenty of exercise because
of their active lifestyle. Their diet is low in salt and primarily consists
of wide variety of vegetables, fruits, soy, fish, whole grains, sprouts etc.
Meat and poultry are allowed but only in restricted amounts while alcohol is
to be avoided.
