Perricone Diet
The weight loss diet has been introduced in 2005 by Dr. Nicholas Perricone,
a US based dermatologist who is also well known for his "anti-aging"
or "anti-wrinkle diet". The weight loss diet is a variation of his
previous face-lift diet programs.
According to Dr. Perricone's theory certain foods cause inflammation and water
retention in the body leading to premature aging and obesity. The diet recommends
foods that are low in carbohydrates and rich in proteins and unsaturated fats.
The Perricone diet is not meant for vegetarians as it lays stress on the consumption
of fresh fish, turkey and free range poultry along with fresh fruits, vegetables,
whole grains etc.
