Eating Disorder
Eating disorder is a type of disease associates with eating habit that disturbs
physical, mental and psychological health.
The habit of eating maybe excessive or limited and often includes stages vomiting
and indigestion.
There are three most common types of eating disorders: Anorexia nervosa, Bulimia
nervosa and binge eating. All three are likely to affect one's health in a long
term and could even cause death.
Anorexia nervosa patients usually starve themselves voluntarily which often
follows by vomiting and sometimes excessive exercises. The main causes of this
disease are low self esteem and depression. Anorexia nervosa is deadly as it
puts a lot of stress on many organs which cannot function properly without nutrients
from food.
Bulimia nervosa differs from Anorexia nervosa because its patients usually
eat excessively before vomiting for fear of gaining weight. Sometimes the patients
also take excessive laxatives, enemas, diuretics and weight-loss medication.
Some may also do excessive exercises and some would do long fasting in order
to compensate the large amount of food they have eaten earlier.
Binge eating disorder occurs when one eats excessively without any exercise.
Often times the patients eat even when they are not hungry and continue to do
until they feel uncomfortable. They normally eat alone, for they fear of getting
caught and this also leads to depression and anxiety.
